We've been taking our male pup, Strider to "puppy play" since he was fully vaccinated (16 weeks?) He absolutely loves it. There is usually at least five or six other dogs in a controlled environment with a trainer present. He is now 8 months old, intact, and plays, well, like a GSD. I hate to take these weekly play sessions away from him, but he does play a bit rough AND he's intact. I think the responsible thing to do is to quit going, but I just want to make sure that not going won't negatively impact Strider. I also want to see if I'm right in thinking we should not go.
We go on walks and I am able to redirect his attention on me when we pass other dogs (as long as they aren't barking, but even then he's pretty good.) He is also is such a gentleman when dog friendly dogs approach him and I don't want to lose that.
Any suggestion? Mind easing comments?
