Potty Training Issue
Our GSD is almost 6 mos old. She is mostly potty trained. She won't go in her crate. She won't go if we are in the room with her. She WILL go when she sneaks off to another room, or more often than not our upstairs hallway (where all the bedrooms are...bedroom doors are all shut to keep her out of mischief in them). We take her out on average every couple hours...she almost always urinates at least some. We take her out about 30 min after a meal. Some of the incidents have occurred less than an hour after her last potty break. If we catch her sneaking upstairs, we take her out and she goes. If she goes anywhere near the back door, we take her out. She has done #1 and #2 in this hallway. Sometimes when we catch her, she does one or the other outside.
We have tried feeding her in that hallway thinking maybe she feels it is her potty area. My wife just used the steam cleaner to clean the carpet in the hallway in an attempt to get rid of any remaining odor that may attract her to going there. I thought of maybe getting a carpet runner temporarily since she doesn't seem to ever go on hard surfaces (tile, laminate).
Any other advice?
