8 weeks old, Berlin vom Spartanville

I would THEORETICALLY like to get a "stacked" picture of him every day so I can do a slideshow to see his color change as he matures, lol. Today was the first day (brought him home yesterday). Obviously I'VE never stacked before, and it wasn't really the best surface (slippery counter, should of used a mat). And he was upset because he had to go to work with me for his first vet exam
So please any advice/opinions for better positioning and technique. Correct me if I'm wrong, from what I can see his front legs are obviously apart, either too far back or forward (that was him sliding), but as well when his rear end was sliding out his left paw tends to point outwards?
Thank you!
Tomorrow, we'll put him on a surface he can grip
