Question GSD and electric horse fences

Was not sure where to post this. I have horses and smooth 5 wire fencing around the place. I also have an electric fence wire on the fence to keep the horses from pushing through the bottom. Grass is always more tasty on the other side. Emma does have a safe chain link fenced yard for now, but thinking about down the road, or when I have her out with me during pasture chores.

The other day while I had Emma out in the pasture, she got very close. I had her on a leash so I was able to pull her back. Been thinking about this for some time. I know its there and so do the horses.

While I know its harmless to the horses, how is it with dogs/puppies. I know it will knock me on my but after getting into it while installing - forgot to turn off the power. Was kneeling down and got bit on the head

In the future I was thinking of putting up 5 foot field fencing with the hot wire on top to keep the horses off and Emma in, or use an invisible fence to keep her on the property and not mess with the smooth wire horse set up.

Thoughts would be appreciated - don't want the horses or Emma hurt
