Besides LoryGay Ounds-hay (I'm trying to avoid mentioning a certain show) and Alpha Dogs, my other favorite show is Too Cute! Kittens, where they follow three different litters of kittens from birth to adoption.
Wait! Come back!
I bring up this show, because on FOUR different episodes, they have featured at least one household where the "babysitter" is none other than a German shepherd! Three of the four have even been long-coats. I can't think of a better endorsement for our wonderful breed--watching helpless tiny tottering kittens nestled in between the large tawny paws of the world's best, most protective dogs.
On one segment, I watched Too Cute! Kittens mirror my very own living room; Mari, a curious German shepherd, makes friends with a litter of Ragdoll kittens.

I agreed with the narrator when he said "Turns out that big, scary housemate is more like... a gentle giant." My eyes glazed with tears, I tenderly ruffled Athena's chest (she likes to sit next to me and watch/bark at all the stars of Too Cute! Kittens) and said, "Yeah...That is SO true."
German shepherds: Best. Dogs. EVER.
