Grim had fun today at his new club! The trainer worked with him with a sleeve for the very first time. I didn't think he'd go on the sleeve as it was try number one. After checking it out, having a little tug with it, and seeing it both on the arm and off... when it was put on again, it just all seemed to come together. I wasn't ready for it (my fault) because he'd not had a strong reaction before. So I was almost faceplanted in the snow. He went well onto the sleeve, and hung on. On the third time on the sleeve, he got to carry his prize. I was surprised, but he carried it for as long as I went with him... and still was reluctant to drop it! He was full of pride. He also became interested in a ball on a rope, and even ended up heeling for the ball!
He butted heads with the trainer when he didn't want to do what he was told to do. They went to the mat, but Grim didn't win! I'm glad that I'm getting educated on how to handle and deal with him where I will have control. Just all around a great day, and can't wait to go back! He got high praise from his eval, work, and temperament. He is exactly what I thought and exactly what I wanted to work with. I think Grim, also, will be happy with this. So proud of my boy!!
