Default 'Wrong' To Have Break From Dogs?

Since I was out anyway,I decided to swing by my vet's office to make a boarding reservation. I telling the receptionist that while I love the dogs, it will be nice to not have to worry about them for a weekend. Well apparently my comment wasn't taken well by the woman behind me who said,'If you don't want to responsibility, then don't get animals.' I started to explain what I meant, but saved it and just walked out when I was done.

Appreciating a break from your pets is just like having one from your kids when they go to their grandparent's. We don't take many vacations, but I don't think it makes me a bad person to say that 'not having to worry about the animals will be good. I do so much for them, and feel that I am entitled to a break.
