put the crate in the car . Put the dog into the crate .
go inside , do your emails , have a cup of --- relax .
let the dog relax and unwind . get her in an hour .
bring her out - be cold stone neutral . you have to show her it is a non-event , normal .
In fact bring her in and crate her again even if for 10 minutes . you let her out when you are ready.
If you get all excited and good girly then you put the emphasis on her coming out , not being in .
you keep doing this a few times without the car moving.
then one day you will pack dog and drive 5 minutes round trip -- leave dog in car when you get back
pay no attention to dog while you are driving -
this is about the trip not the destination.
you can put some grated or ground ginger into her meal or a minced meat treat 15 minutes before loading . This will settle the stomach.
if she has a nerve issue you can give her some RESCUE drops on her tongue .
when she has been able to go a bit of distance without voiding or drooling or vomitting then you can let her out - once again the more fuss you make on taking her out the longer it will take . Remember she still needs to board again so you don't want so much excitement . Take dog out , walk a bit , brisk walk 2 to 3 minutes turn around , get dog in for return.
Soon you should have a dog that travels without anxiety and then you can enjoy the rest . Too much excitement makes the dog loaded for the trip home.
You can do this several times a day .
