I do not understand how, after sharing your life for 6 years with a dog when people decide to move they don't care to find a house that allows dogs and suddenly have to rehome them.
(notice I said "decide", there are of course situations where moving is not optional)

EXACTLY!!!!! I mean everyone has seen GSDs as police dogs and service dogs and in movies and probably at the local animal shelter or their neighbor had one. How can they NOT know that every GSD is generally a pretty good sized dog?! I've seen what people are calling a miniture GSD. It had something wrong with i think its the pitutitary gland? that prevented growth. We have a small yard. The dogs go outside to potty and for exercise they get walked a few times a day! Dogs are work!!! People are lazy. As i said previously, we're looking at buying a house at our next station just so we can keep ALL of out pets!!! I cant stand those who just dump their "beloved" pets off like an ex boyfriend! I'm sorry. I raise my dogs as a part of the family and damnit! A part of the family they'll stay until their time comes! Plain and simple.
