I've used the Champion seatbelts for all my dogs for about the last 8-10 years or so, and they work great. They are made strong to hold up in an accident, unlike a lot of the dog "seatbelts" you can get at pet stores.
If a seatbelt relies only on plastic clips to hold the dog in the harness, it will likely not be strong enough to hold up in an accident. Only a few seatbelts for dogs are strength rated and/or safety tested.
