Hi everyone

I am from Dorset in the UK and own a 9 year old long haired GSD called Tasha who over the past year has been suffering from what the vet says is a type of dermatitis made worse by her thick coat. It develops into crusty areas which if I touch are very itchy, mostly on her back. I tend to cut the hair short around these areas and apply cream the vet gave me. The problem is it appears to get better then worsens when I stop the cream. I would like to know what is causing this so I can treat the cause rather than the symptoms. I have been told that this is very breed related so I really hoping someone can advice me on what to do. I look forward to hearing from people. Many Many thanks Lucy
