ok, I asked around. Many cameras can see "farther" at night because of the reduced glare from the sun. Of course, the darkness means that there is less clarity in the image. IE it's lighter and darker shadows, not clear images like you would see in the daylight. Unless of course, you have a camera that is equipped with night vision, but those aren't cheap.
again, though, unless you have a really expensive camera set-up, you aren't going to have the clarity to spy on your neighbor's yard. Not to mention across the street into a playground! Such a system is out of budget for all but the most top secret of operations, let alone a "creeper" who lives with his mother.
