Today Spike got a Total Makeover!

Time for Phase I - The Bath!
I put a plastic tub in the shower (to raise him up and save my back) with a towel on it (for traction for him). Get the water warm, toss him on on the tub and get started:
I start with a basic dog shampoo, diluted with water (probably 10 - 1). I save plastic bottles to use as shampoo holders for the dogs - that's what you see in the bottom right corner. The dirt in the shower is from the previous bather - Mauser.
Rinse time!! Doesn't he look thrilled!!
"LET ME OUTTA HERE!!!"
Ok, removed the towel so he DOESN'T have such good traction
and move on the Whitening shampoo. Again - diluted with alot of water. You can see the shampoo is actually purple. If you put in on full strength you run the risk of getting a purple dog!
Here you can already see the difference in color between the two front legs. I'm just finishing up sudsing up his right leg - the left leg was next:

I couldn't get any shots of the shaving (my photog had better things to do
) so we just have to fast forward to the finished product.

He isn't completely shaved down - not baby-butt smooth, just relatively cleaned up. I didn't want to put him through too much at once.
