I agree with the training, gating, and/or crating.

However, I don't agree with the hot sauce idea. For one, that just seems cruel to me. Second, I think she'd be able to smell it and eventually she'll learn that when she smells that that she shouldn't lick it. Not to not jump on the counter. But that's just what I think.
But the issue isn't her eating food of the counter is it? Just counter surfing?
