Default New Issue with Extreme Danger~Need Help Please!!

Ok,
So now that Kaiya is bigger she can now reach the kitchen counters standing on her back legs. She's been doing this all day everyday as she has quickly learned that the kitchen counter is usually where the food is. I am very stern and consistent and always give an immediate "OFF!" when she does it. The rest of the family as well. She will always get down on command, but it only takes a few seconds or minutes before she does it again. I tried using treats as a reward for when she got down, but it has backfired. Now she uses it as a way to get treats. Meaning, "I know if I get up here and she tells me to get down, when I do, I'll get a treat." So, I stopped treating her and just using the stern command and hand signals. But the counter jumping is a continuous thing ALL day EVERY day.

Here's what frightens me. We have a flat top stove. And she will jump on this just as soon as the counter because food is often on here as well. When cooking, I WILL NOT leave the kitchen unless she goes with me. I am one of those that's sees the worst that can happen in every situation, and I see her jumping up to investigate what's on the stove, and pawing a frying pan or boiling pot of water and it flipping over onto her. The thought scares the **** outta me!!

The second part is that the DH IS NOT as careful as me. And though I have repeated it for years and years, because of the children, he will often cook things on the outer burners with the handles pointed outwards and filled to the brim with boiling water or grease and the stove on high. The children are older now and know better than to get close to the stove, but Kaiya, of course does not. I have NEVER fed her from the counters or while standing at the stove, but the smells alone always make her want to investigate. So what can I do?? What would be a more effective method to get her to stop jumping on the counters and stove?? The DH is off for the rest of the week and will be left home alone with her. And no matter what I say, I can't seem to fix his careless ways. So what can I do to keep Kaiya from seriously injuring herself??
