Re: 2 sisters on the run no more- lil' jams
Long overdue yam update
The yams and I are still in MA and waiting for the house to sell, second thoughts about moving to ME so I am job hunting some.....
FINALLY the yams personalities are out enough to quit messing around and have real names for them....
Sweetie (mom/Shiloh) is doing wonderfully. She was so shy in the beginning but now she makes good eye contact and feels it's OK to ask for attention and petting. She is absolutely the sweetest girl I have ever met.... She wags her tail some, and I've seen it up completely at times... a good sight. She LOVES to be outside and is always looking at the door to see it there's a hand on the knob. She is so good with other dogs they come to the fence and they all run around like nuts. Sometimes I let the neighborhood dogs in the fence for a free for all. Sweetie makes the funniest face when we are playing... she wants to smile so bad but doesn't want to show her teeth. The result is her face scrunches all up like she ate a lemon.... but there is such a twinkle in her eyes you know she's having a blast. OMG I wish you could see how sweet she is, she'd make even the sternest person melt.
Her exact opposite is Cinna-minnie aka Honey aka Miss Behavior aka Princess Buttercup. She has several personalities but the majority of them are TROUBLE! She is outgoing and fun, always ready to play tag and sounds like a herd of elephants when she goes up or down the stairs... Her tail is like a proud little flag... such a difference from the poor little shaking waif who first came here. She is as goofy as Sweetie is sweet. She loves to steal socks and on laundry day I have to go to all her hiding places to find them to wash. She never chews them, she's just a kleptomaniac. She's even tried to take them from my feet before I even have my socks off! Honey is in love with the toilet bowl she loves to just stare in it. She never drinks from it but will hang out there. Personally, I think she is wondering who the dog in the bowl is, I don't have the heart to tell her it is her reflection and ruin her fun. AND it's one time where she isn'y causing trouble!!! If there are strangers around she is the first to hide which is the opposite of how she behaves with me and other dogs. Honey will cower and Sweetie becomes the brave/curious one.
If I do end up staying here I plan to triple their play pen so they can really stretch their legs and play. I can't wait to see them in their new pen. They are such fun to watch when they are playing.
At night we all pile on the bed. Honey on one side and Sweetie on the other. Somehow every night Honey and I wake up clinging to the edge of the bed as Sweetie lounges across the entire bed. Honey will lay with her feet towards me instead of her back. She hates it when her feet are cold.
So far we plan to make it to the May 2nd Echo reunion/rescue event in Boxford MA. They still have alot of socializing to work on. We're going to go for a bit and see how the yammies do.....
Whew! I think I am typed out. I know, I know I promised pics... I am waiting for a roll to be developed and will put them on soon.
Much Love and many thanks to all of you who helped bring the yams and I together.... your hard work paid off as we all love each other to pieces and I can't imagine my life without them now.... it would be very boring and lonely too. I never thought it possible but in their own way they have filled the hole that Ziggy and Lola left. Something I never ever thought was possible... thank you all again,
Sandy and the yammies
